still working on the same painting

but i have a few ideas for two new ones -- just have to get the canvases ready. They will be smaller -- and of inanimate objects. Maybe those will be easier to let go of?

and yes that's the photo stuck to it.... :) I'm liking this one because there isn't a clear face -- which makes it not so much of a 'portrait' -- hopefully leaving some openness in. I think the only other one that's similar is the yellow dress painting -- my first one. There's no head :)

  1. I think it's a good idea to not have the face as the main area of focus. For example in your Steve painting his face takes all focus. Not having a focus seems to further illustrate the main themes of the way you paint... it seems not so much as a decision maker but as a whim follower. You seem to let your filter go as much as possible. Everything equal like a flat, amoral, postmodern, state of being... with a little drunkin party time thrown in the mix.
